Bay City Industrial Supply’s history can be traced back to 1949 when Mr. “Bud” Phipps began his career at a small independent distribution company called “Bay City Bearing”. With a dedicated and enthusiastic staff, Bay City Bearing thrived and grew to lead the power transmission market in Southern California. When the company was purchased by an out-of-state firm, Bud oversaw the opening of the first branch of King Bearing Inc. With a “Can-Do” mentality and commitment to customer care, Bud oversaw the opening of more than a dozen King Bearing branches throughout Southern California. Raising the bar in customer service was always at the forefront of their mission.

Mr. Dave Phipps joined King Bearing as an outside sales representative in 1980. His extensive career in the power transmission field would begin here. After eleven years of being a top performer at King Bearing, the company was purchased by a national chain distributor in 1991. It was at this time that Dave made the decision to venture out and establish his own company in Orange, California. Quickly outgrowing this location, Dave relocated the company to a larger facility in Anaheim. In 2011, Dave’s team led by Mr. Clint Barnes and Mr. Ryan Phipps opened a secondary branch in Long Beach.

Today, Bay City Industrial Supply is the fastest growing, family owned, independent power transmission distributor in Southern California. The foundation and reputation of the company has been built heavily on customer service. Bay City Industrial Supply is committed (as always) to putting their customers first and striving for excellence. Dave takes pride in the fact that his company is family owned and operated.
